The Rag and Bone Man (Paul Firbank) reworks British traditions for a new generation of customers who are passionate about quality, heritage, provenance and sustainability. From humble beginnings in a small side building in Hackney the company has grown into an 1800 sq.ft. workshop as an established brand working with clients around the globe. Paul’s unique contemporary style of craftsmanship combines the past with the present. Aged engines, broken machines, classic motorcycle and rare aviation and vehicle parts along with modern scrap otherwise destined for the melting pot are collected from scrap yards and grease shops, reworked, restored and re-energised into a wealth of bespoke, head turning objects that tell their own story. In 2015 The Rag and Bone Man also celebrated the launch of ‘Found to Foundry’, its first range of sandcast aluminium pendant lights developed in collaboration with a British foundry that specialises in automative restoration.
