The cult store of Paris, Colette is the ultimate Pandora’s Box of wonders and treasures – showcasing the latest selection of luxury and underground womenswear, menswear, accessories, beauty and lifestyle labels.
Colette is based on Rue Saint-Honore in Paris, arguably one of the most luxury retail areas in the world and sits alongside fabled French fashion houses Chanel, Dior and Hermes. A relative newcomer in the area, Colette celebrated it’s 18th birthday in April 2015.
The name, ‘Colette’ derives from the C0-Founder and Buyer’s mothers name – the name was chosen as it gave the association of a tradition Parisian name contrasted with the contemporary and cutting-edge nature of the store and it’s brands.
The original concept of the store was to reunite fashion, food, music, books and design objects – with the ‘best of’ items the co-founders liked. Some of the products were not available in France at the time. When the store opened in 1997, any communication about the shop owners was prohibited as they wanted to focus on designers and artists they worked with.
