From a childhood friendship to creative partnership, Emma Gushlow and Katrina Cole launched their eponymous luxury womenswear brand in 2003. After studying at the London College of Fashion, they honed their skills in shearling manufacture, pattern cutting and design at the highly respected Cole family business, laying the foundations to establish Gushlow & Cole. Despite humble beginnings in London’s Spitalfields, they soon became a destination stop for stylists and fashion-savvy shoppers, and demand swiftly lead them to debut a luxury shearling accessories line during London Fashion Week the following year. Since then, their collections of outerwear and accessories have been showcased in Paris, New York and Tokyo. Despite their international appeal, the duo are passionate supporters of UK manufacturing and craft and are proud to add that all Gushlow & Cole collections are made entirely in Britain. The label has over 100 stockists in 5 continents and counts Angelina Jolie amongst its celebrity clientele. Gushlow & Cole are launching their first ever spring collection at Scoop London.

Risk made in Warsaw

Manufactured locally in Poland, RISK made in Warsaw is a women’s and menswear brand created in 2011 by Antoinette Samecką and Clare Kovtun. It’s an unusual concept, because instead of dealing with what trends, RISK made in Warsaw solves the problem, their idea is simple; combine comfort and ease with great chic styles all in various shades of grey. Their solutions obsessed approach is in favor of flattering the figure, unsurprising then that their design emphasis is on cut and silhouette. Furthermore, working with great craftsmen and experts on every detail, such as the materials on their hand-dyed buttons, results in pieces being recognizably as theirs.

Mathilde Danglade was born on the Island of Ré, off the French Atlantic coast. As far as she remembers, she was sketching and always wanted to be a stylist. After several years in advertising and publishing, and with several years spent in Hong Kong, which fuelled her fascination for precious stones, Mathilde decided to professionally apply her artistic talent and taste for gems. In 2007 Mathilde launched her first jewellery collection, which was immediately singled out by exclusive fashion stores in France and Belgium. There is a distinct Asian influence in all of Mathilde’s elegant creations, her delicate design combines gold and silver with colorful gemstones, uncut diamonds, small ancient coins, and exquisite pebbles or pieces of driftwood handpicked on the beaches of her native island. Her collections include necklaces, bracelets, rings, and earrings. These must-have pieces are now distributed by more than a 100 exclusive fashion stores all over the world, from the Vendome Yamada in Tokyo to Juliette Longuet in New York.

Delage

With a heritage that dates back to 1905, the Delage Company inherited its know-how from its automobile origins and Art Deco aesthetics. Combining the company’s historic values with ageless refinement, today Delage is dedicated to leather goods inspired by its own tradition of beautiful cars. With countless stockists throughout France, their second shop recently opened in London, whilst their first is stationed in the heart of Paris.

Founded in Paris in 2013, Sweety Jane is a jewellery brand inspired by travel and mysticism and distinctive by its feminine and strong lines. Using materials, which are almost alchemical, the creations are designed as contemporary talismans to wear on any occasion. All items are exclusively made of vermeil and subsequently are stamped with a prestigious ‘V’; this authenticates their craft origin and quality. Contemporary but timeless, Parisian but universal, the contours and hammerings are designed meticulously to their very last detail. Paris Vogue and Biba have recently featured Sweety Jane. Stockists include Sept Cinq and Birdy, both in Paris.

AlinaMarti is a Paris-based designer and stylist. In 2010, she created her womenswear brand dedicated to the ambitious and timeless woman.Drawing inspiration from the geometric harmony of architecture and graphic forms, Alina Marti favours an elegant and refined style. Her collections, with their clean lines and sensual fabrics, feed on a rich set of materials associated with a particularly neat finish work.

FORBES & LEWIS – the luxury bags you need in your life

British brand Forbes & Lewis are thrilled to unveil their A/W14 collection after a sell out A/W13 season which will be available from 6th August on www.forbesandlewis.com designed for both men and women.

The quintessentially English label pays tribute to classic styling and intelligent designs with a contemporary, understated twist.Their design philosophy stretches to the idea that the foundation to any good product is in the choice of materials. F&Ls’ products are crafted from the finest hides and canvas, marrying a timeless aesthetic sensibility with function and quality. F&L only use 100% leather, authentically imperfect – found only with natural leathers. This ensures that all their leather items are hard wearing yet supple. F&L use different globally sourced leathers for different products, depending on the suitability of the fabric in accordance to the design. Their preferred canvas has a heavyweight, semi-waxy, laminated coating to add an added waterproof element. They have mastered their blend between canvas and wax to ensure their canvas remains soft whilst also offering protection against harsh weathers. The hardware is also of equal quality to the canvas or leather, every detail from the shape, to the stitching, to the strap, to the shade of leather – all need to work in unison.

Within the range available from 6th August – we think their black/neon colour ways are real statement pieces whether for a getaway, for work, play and just great for every day use.  Take you pick!
